There are a lot of marketing tools that work very nicely with social media marketing, but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that the backbone is email marketing. What? Email marketing is so…’90’s. Yes. Yes it is. Know why its still around? It works. But the way email marketing campaigns of today work dovetails veeeeeeery nicely with social media.

Turns out, people don’t like to be sold, they like to buy. People don’t buy from marketers, they buy from people. These adages are true in social media and they are true in email. Both require some consideration for content. But why is email the back bone of a social media campaign? Aren’t they separate tools? Well, yes, but why would you want them to stay separate?

One of my first questions to new clients is always about their email program and list. If you don’t have an email list or you are a new company, that’s fine, but my solutions and recommendations for you are going to be different.
