The Challenge

Two Audiences. One Mission. No Room for Missteps.

Our client was a grant-funded nonprofit whose mission was preparing pre-K children to become successful students. The families they served were often economically disadvantaged, more reliant on their native language than English, and accessed the internet primarily through their phones. Social media was their channel — not email, not websites.

But there was a second audience: state legislators actively weighing early education funding. Every piece of content had to resonate deeply with parents and caregivers while remaining credible and non-alienating to elected officials. That balance is harder than it sounds.

The Approach

01 Content

Peer-to-Peer Tone

Activity-based content sourced from Vroom with accessible language, diverse family visuals, and built-in translation. Kept deliberately simple — overly polished content would have felt inauthentic to the audience it needed to reach.

02 Community

Community Management

Active monitoring and engagement across platforms. Parents and caregivers were encouraged to share with each other. Cross-nonprofit collaboration extended reach by connecting families to a broader resource network.

03 Paid Social

Geo-Targeted Amplification

Facebook and Instagram ads ensured the message reached the right families consistently — not a broad audience, but the specific community the campaign existed to serve. Urgency and geography drove every targeting decision.

The Outcome

Community Visible Enough to Move a State Legislature

A 52% engagement rate doesn't happen when content feels institutional. It happens when a community recognizes itself in the message. That's what this campaign built — a visible, active community of parents and caregivers who showed up, responded, and shared.

That visibility had weight beyond the platform. Because community support was demonstrably clear, elected officials had the evidence they needed. The state legislature passed a bill funding early education programs specifically for 3 and 4 year olds — including those who are economically challenged. That's what PR that works all the way through looks like.

"Firmly committed to attaining the objectives of clients with imagination, flexibility, and understanding of the environmental context."
