Our Programs
Why Public Relations. Why Now.
AI-powered search and LLMs now surface product recommendations directly in results. If there's no third-party editorial coverage training those systems, you don't exist in the channel that's replacing traditional discovery for both consumers and investors.
Earned Media converts 10–50% better than advertising. Consumers trust editorial in ways they don't trust paid placements. Nielsen, 2024.
A 90-day PR Sprint typically delivers 9X ROI — and coverage keeps working long after the campaign ends.
Consumers who've seen editorial coverage convert at higher rates on your paid ads. Earned Media makes every channel work harder.
FINTECH PR BY FUNDING STAGE
Consumer fintech companies don't outgrow their PR needs, the narrative just changes. Here's what the right agency should be doing at each stage.
At Series A, the real work is category-building, and earned media grows the category and the reputation. Coverage at this stage should establish authority with investors before the next fundraise is in play, and begin placing your company inside the trend rather than alongside it. The narrative needs to answer "why now" convincingly, because that question doesn't get easier as the company scales.
Series B is when the gap between what you've built and how the market perceives you starts to affect business outcomes. Your Earned Media record, executive visibility, and narrative consistency over the past 18 months all factor into institutional investor due diligence. Competitive positioning becomes urgent here too. A competitor is getting the story you should own, and PR needs to establish your category authority while there's still runway to do it.
When M&A is a realistic outcome, PR shifts from visibility to narrative valuation. Strategic acquirers pay more for companies with clear market position, established authority, and a narrative that already answers "why now." Embargo management becomes critical at this stage: premature announcements, regulatory leaks, or coverage that contradicts your deal narrative can materially affect terms. You need a PR partner who understands M&A timelines and works within them.
Eighteen months before an IPO is the baseline, and most companies are already behind it. Institutional investors evaluate media and reputation patterns, not individual placements. They want consistent executive visibility in tier-one financial and trade press, and a narrative that holds across time. An agency that has worked inside IPO windows understands that every placement either supports the valuation argument or creates noise that has to be managed later. That distinction requires experience over activity.
REGULATED FINTECH PR
Consumer fintech brands operating in regulated spaces face a communications layer that requires a boutique touch: personalized, and serious. Every announcement, whether a product update, a capital event, or a partnership disclosure, moves through review. Embargo management in regulated fintech isn't just about keeping reporters honest. It's about coordinating announcement timing with regulatory windows, lock-up periods, and state-specific disclosure requirements that vary by product category. When your agency has never worked inside a regulated industry, that coordination creates friction instead of competitive advantage.
The compliance layer also changes how you build your editorial calendar and how you respond to breaking news. A fintech company in payments, lending, or insurance-adjacent products can't simply jump on a news cycle. Reactive pitching requires more rigor than proactive pitching. Avaans Media has worked with regulated consumer brands since 2008 including cannabis, consumer healthtech, and consumer fintech. That operational experience is embedded in how we manage timelines, brief journalists, and handle the situations that catch generalist agencies off guard.
Meet Avaans Media
Founded by Tara Coomans in 2008, Avaans Media is a team of 100% executive-level PR professionals built for consumer product brands with something real to prove. Every engagement is led by senior talent. There's no bait-and-switch to a junior team once the contract is signed.
We created the PR Sprint program because twelve-month retainers weren't built for how consumer brands actually grow. Your biggest revenue opportunities happen in windows. So we built a program around those windows. And for brands navigating a bigger moment, our Bespoke PR program starts with our proprietary Fingerprint Strategy — because every brand's path to authority is as unique as a fingerprint.
We're client-forward and digitally savvy. We don't offer SEO, website services, or paid advertising. We do one thing exceptionally well: PR that builds advantage.
